Symptoms for women
For women, one of the earliest symptoms, one that usually occurs during perimenopause, is shorter, longer, heavier, or lighter periods due to fluctuating progesterone and estrogen. Sometimes, menstruation will become irregular or less frequent.
Women may experience night sweats, which are intense hot flashes that happen at night. They often disrupt sleep. Vaginal dryness may also occur, as vaginal walls thin.
As a woman, you could also suffer from urinary incontinence, which may cause an increase in urgency and frequency in urination. She might also have difficulty regulating bladder control.
